Community Support

We provide community support services to maintain or increase an individual’s ability to be an active, healthy community member. Our community support services focus on community inclusion and skill development.

Areas of support for the individuals we serve may include:

• Learning safety skills. We teach our consumers how to safely cross streets, walk on the sidewalk, pet animals only with the owner’s permission.
• Accessing and using community resources such as public transportation, the library, and the DMV.
• Volunteering. Our consumers have volunteered at a variety of organizations and events, including Courageous Steps Project, Folk Festival, and different Color Run events.
• Involvement in community activities, clubs, or social events. Our consumers are involved in all aspects of their community, such as the Cool Sounds Concerts, 4th of July Parade, college sports games / events, and flea markets.
• Developing safe and healthy relationships. Fostering new and fulfilling friendships amongst consumers and others in the community is another way our community support services assist our consumers.
